computer still not working so im on the wifes laptop .thought id stop in to say hi friends,all is well here plus I got my royal 30 inch sluice box from Carolina prospectors last Friday.works great but nothing found yet .time to go to my new creek I found last fall.TC guys n ladies hope to get back online soon.
Went to the coast today for some swingin'. The tide was high when I got there so I stuck to the trails for a while. I got the usual pull tabs and clad coins, but got a few neat things. I could use some help with id on a couple of them. First thing is an old lock. Not sure how old it is but it's cool anyways.
The next thing I found has me scratchin my head. I grew up around guns and hunted my whole life but I never seen a rim fire shell this large. I dug this 44 mag shell today also and used it for comparison.
The last cool thing I dug was a big flat button.

While tryin to clean it up I noticed the stars are gold so I stopped.

These all came from the woods. Once the water dropped, I tried detecting down there and didn't have much success. The coastline is pretty rugged.
I got a good signal that turned out to be a brass bolt but when I flipped over a rock, this guy was waiting for me.

This one is such a PAIN to work I've just put it off for almost 2 years.
But... finally decided to shut down the guys and move equipment for the day.
LONG tough day... but it was good to finally work it, test it, and record the results.
Kind of reminded me I'm over 50.......... :)
Buddy of mine Charlie came in from TN with a couple of friends. So I asked them to punch some holes on the lower end of our property and test it. That ground is OK... so we really have not tested it much. However, they had a blast. Fun to watch.
Then I walked up to our guys and they hit a nice spot. Between the two they were pulling about 5-6 grams an hour. Nice ground... wish it would last.
Day after I left a bear crossed the creek right next to Charlie's dredge while they were running. Now that... would have been fun to video. Shot some stuff while there.
The picture below is native american pottery. Guessing 1600's range for age. It was about 42" under hard pack.
While I was working the dirt pile @ AGC June 2014 - a little white butterfly came and landed on my arm to check out my progress, lol. Just thought it was really cool that the Butterflies are OK with us Gold Prospecting - now if the environmentalists would start thinkin' like Butterflies - we would all be in a better place.
talked to them today on the phone and they are doing great . they said they will try to make it down for the show on sunday. lynn says they are finding nice gold and they said to tell everyone here hello.

I know it's that time of year for us all to get out in the woods and look for that mystical yellow stuff and the ticks are waiting for our return, this is the stuff I use and swear by it, this is for your close only do not put on skin, it costs 12.99 and worth every penny, hang your close outside and spray them let them dry several hours before wearing you can wash them up to six times before you have two treat them again, hope this info helps

Took my 4 year granddaughter with me prospecting, and to our club meeting. She had more fun getting all wet from my loose hose clamp spraying a shower into the air than she did scooping dirt into the highbanker only found 15-20 little specks, and papaw is totally wiped out..
well roy boy and b g you should try the vortex it catches the very fine gold as well as the bigger gold easy to clean up you dont need 3 or 4 different types of mats to do what 1 vortex mat does
my wifes brother passed away lastnight sometime between 9 and 10 pm5 minute be4 my wife got to the hospital to see him after we were called to say he wouldn't make it thru the night. RIP brother in law u will be gtreatly missed
