What to do with the flakes and pickers?

My girlfriend and I have been spending some time gold hunting in the mother lode country...we have moved a lot of dirt but have been rewarded for our efforts. Now, the problem...what to do with the gold?I thought I found a unique solution....I married her and had rings made with the gold we found last year....thought you might like a peek. A little about me

I live in Canyonville, Oregon. I have nine claims, including a 140 acre placer claim on Cow Creek called "Geezer Gulch. Two "The Copper and the L & M Copper lode claims are copper producing, but the Garnets and Rubies are what I dig for there, they are thick. One lode claim "The Cabin Mine" is on Starveout creek, the placer "Lucky Nugget" on Sweat Creek near Days Creek, the lode mines "Yellow Jacket 1, 2, and 3 are gold claims, 3 is a mill site. also getting another 1 mile claim on Seward Creek in Seward, Alaska for this summer.I teach mining, panning, sluicing, dredging, highbanking, hard rock. Also at this time (closed) but I manufacture my own line of Sluice Box's, dredges, and high bankers. With 22 different patent pending and 12 more to get for inventions in the mining industry.Just finished a book out on CD and down loadable at this time called "Shorty's Not So Lost Mines and Treasures of Southern Oregon" a pictorial walk through the mining years of Oregon. Also a CD List of Mines and Quarries in the State Of Oregon with more than 10,000 mines and quarries listed county by county, giving map coordinates and GPS coordinates to each, the material mined and the host rock also last known update to the claim.I have the largest Data base of Mines and Quarries in the State.Well this book is getting a little long so I'll close for now. It's great to be a new member and hope I can contribute to help any and all miners, recreational miners and prospectors.

GoldShooter was founded May 2006 as a not for profit club by volunteer experienced miners dedicated to bringing you recreational gold mining at its very best. Members will enjoy access to hundreds of acres of placer gold producing claims. Club members may keep all the gold and other valuable minerals that they find. Columbia Arizona is the primary hub for GoldShooter. Columbia is located in the Bradshaw mountains with some of the best gold mining history in the state of Arizona. Our Columbia group mining grounds run through the ghost town of Columbia to the Ghost town of Humbug, up Swilling Gulch to the ghost town of Beacon Light, and include Rockwall Gulch, Carpenter Gulch and the Gold Hill area. Columbia group placer claims are surrounded by multiple ghost towns with over a hundred major lode gold mines that deposited placer gold through out the entire area. Some of the most unique historical artifacts in the state remain in this area today. Area ghost towns include Columbia, Humbug, Tip Top, Gillette, Packer, Bradshaw City, Ft Tule, Cleator, Beacon light, CrownKing, Tiger and others. GoldShooter members will enjoy mining, camping, hiking, and have the opportunity to participate in historical guided tours.

Hi Folks!

Thanks for setting up this great site Tim! I like the layout and features. Of all the sites I belong to, this one is unique.I know some of you, and hope to get know more about all of you. I have enjoyed looking at your pictures!I'm a retiree and (unfortunately) live in gold-forsaken Western KY (the state, not the jelly.) I have prospected a bit in the western states, but my main focus is the east and midwest. I spent a couple of weeks helping a newbie prospect his property in North Carolina this past season. Chuck Lassiter is my favorite prospecting partner for several reasons, first and foremost his knowledge and expertise find great gold! His sense of humor, mechanical genius and broadbased goals are also big pluses, plus he is a great cook! If any of you don't have a copy of Chuck's book, "Midwest Gold Prospecting" you're shortchanging yourself. His videos may be a bit too incendiary to watch during the off-season.I'm from upstate NY, and visit family there every year. I'm always on the prowl for that great NY and midwest glacial gold.Heavy Pans, faaus
