I just joined my local prospecting group and went dredging last weekend, got a new job and have a little extra cash coming my way, am looking for the best mini- highbanker.

I'm looking for something to get very fine gold from lightly classified material (1/4"). I'm in Portland, Oregon, so all the gold around me is super fines that I have access to.

 I have seen three popular types of gold capturing systems:

1) riffles with moss or matting or some combination there-of

2) fluidized-bed

3) ABS molded plastic drop-riffle design

 People seem to be conflicted on the drop-riffle style ABS plastic sluices, they seem super easy to clean up, but I'm among the very skeptical as to the validity of their claims, but I hope they are right!

My main limitations are:

mainly money, and second space. I have a small apartment and need to be able to store it and transport it with ease.

I have a 400 dollar budget. total.

I'm open to suggestions and really need real world advice, I can't afford to buy lemon!

Anyone willing to work with me. Would like to go to Gold Rush Days @ Butler, Since I am not a GPAA member, I'd be limited to panning. Would like to bring my highbanker.

Well our gold mining did not start yet and will not for this year. To many heath problems we the family we did not even go to the JR Gold bowling tournament in Chicago With hertz for my little girl, amd not going mining. So all we can do is go next year but man the fever is hitting hard. I do have 8 bucket of dirt but that wont hold us for the winter.   

So according to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy after "accidentally" dumping 3 million gallons of heavy metal-laden sludge into the Animas river, "..the river is restoring itself." 

If rivers possess this ability and the EPA knows it, what possible argument does the EPA have to regulate any in-stream mining activities which produce ZERO toxic emission?

We need your opinion - The Gold Rover - Coming soon.
This unit can be ordered with a 11/2", 2", 2 1/2" Dredge. It is equipped with a 2 1/2 HP Honda. It is set for easy movement to the creeks equipped with balloon tires, buckets, Estwing Rock Pick, Shovels, hoses, and Nozzle. The main unit is set for leveling adjustments in all directions and easy pull handle. The dredge can be set as a stand alone, if necessary. Individual adjustments on the sluice box add extra abilities. Total weight on the 1 1/2" unit is approx. 115 lbs, other sizes may vary slightly. Everything you need in one place. A truck carrier will be optional.

So! I'm planing a trip to Norway for a buddy of mine and myself.

We will be taking a ferry from Denmark to Larvik in Norway and just camping with tents, we will be

driving across the country to the opposite coast near Haugesund.

From there the plan is to head north and inland eventually entering Sweden somewhere northeast of Lillehammer.

from there traveling southwards and going back to Denmark via the new bridge to Copenhagen.

Of course the exact route is not fixed, and we will be prospecting all along the way.

So we are really looking forward to this trip, none of us has really had an opportunity to get out on a holiday trip for years, so hope we find some GOLD, but I am sure we will have a good time.

Tell you all about it when we get home, unless we strike it rich, then we might stay. Ha.ha..........

So just a little follow-up

I've been organizing the trip, and there is a lot to do.

Finally I think (hope) that everything is in place. Papers for the car, passport and social security card. Ticket for the Ferry is bought so we are ready to leave on Monday the 3 of august noon, and arrive in Larvik Norway 4 30 in the afternoon. From there we are just heading out of town to find a place to camp the first night.

Our adventure begins.... We are both really looking forward to the trip, and off course hoping for good weather, nice gold and spectacular scenery.

I'm hoping to get lots of pictures and maybe some video too.

I had flat pan as project construction.
I went on two concepts
a totally flat pan


and a more classic flat pan with a depth of 4.5 cm.


the 2 pans, therefore thus drawings and 2 sets of own tools for each form

the tool in the foreground with a 15 ° angled base to accommodate special drill for the riffles of the pan flat flat

all with the machine to the pan and conventional flat on work surface


The molds or counter molds are made with MDF or medium is the compressed wood powder and pasted the only flaw is that it tends from dust as it is not stabilized with a special varnish.
I'm out because it generates a lot of dust

now it must be sanded, varnished, sanded and varnished again until an glossy and shinning condition.
then switch over molding and manufacture of gold pans+

Ok.  Going to set this straight.  Yes I did win the Freddy Dodge give away.  I will soon be the proud owner of the autographed pan and Gold Nugget.  That is right from Freddy's FB page.  I will also post pics once I receive it....

I just purchased the MetalVision metal detector from Travis...a pretty nice guy. I'll give y'all a report as to how well it works. Just ordered today so I should have some feedback by Sunday, July 5th. mdv
