  • I have a couple of options for that, check out the stowaway and the tubby concentrators on my page. www.spikestrikesluices.com  2960254055?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

Can run without screening to 1/8 like some others, two options, one on a Stand like Gold Cube, the other mounts to a standard tub!! can run bank run material, just not big rocks, can run your material from a dredge or Highbanker and cut your concentrates, both with one purpose catch that gold!!2960254049?profile=original

  • Ok here is something that I have not seen discussed yet. 3 Stack vs 4 Stack. Mike P you can jump in here too. When using the topper, the oversize discharges on the same side with the 4 stack. With the 3 stack the oversize falls off the rear and the cube discharges to the front. In a recirculating system, the 3 is my choice, because I save the oversize for additional checking. (nuggets and gemstones) What I would do with the 4 stack tray, when running all day on a beach for instance, is watch the second tray for gold. If I see it starting to load, I would shut the water down for a minute and switch the second tray for the 4 tray that was sitting idle and then start the water again. Total time to switch about a minute, to be down and back up running. Then wash the 2 tray for cons and set it aside to do the next clean up.  I do most of my prospecting in the Carolina's so I'm not finding nuggets. Just something to think about. Dickb

    • Okay I think I'll go with the 4 tray like Ken said, but Richard you bring up a good point. Maurice I think I'll go w/ the four tray for that security reason and I'd surely love to go to Nome and experience that. Thanks guys
      • Ok if you intend to head north, be sure and save the boxes that the cube is shipped in. Then before you go, repack the cube and topper in the boxes and mail it to Nome either general delivery for you to pick it up or it your going to GPAA send it to them and they well keep it there for you to arrive. • good luck on your choice i think i would go with the 4 tray unit at least would be  set to go eather way  always wise to be  more tjhe less and wish you had of done it in the first place

  • Hi Bruce:

The detail you don't mention is the size of the gold you expect to recover. It you are finding nuggets of any size, then the cube may not be your first choice. If your expecting that what you will find will fall through a 3/16" mesh screen then I would recommend the cube. I also have both a highbanker and the 3 stack cube with the topper. I use both but the cube will not lose the fine gold and that is what I find most. The topper has a 3/16" punch plate and the gold has to fall through it to get caught in the traps or the cube. If a dredge is in your future, the cube will let you process your cons fast and clean. JMHO. Dickb

    • Thanks Maurice and Richard, I think the gold cube going to be my next investment. I've heard a lot of positive feed back on the cube. So my next question is how many trays would work the best. Hey Richard I'm going to mining fine gold so the cube seems to be the way to go. Thanks again for the info.
      • I have the 3 tray. Most of the people that I know that use them have 3 trays. But some like the 4th tray just for the added security feeling. I dont believe I have found more then a few flakes in the 3rd tray as it is. Now tray 2 I have had so much gold in it that it looked like butter up in Nome. Cripple river has a 3 tray that I used when we were there. And anyone can tell you the beach gold in Nome is pretty darn fine

  • All I can talk about on your list is the Gold Cube. I am a new prospector myself so in no way am I very experienced. The Gold Cube was one of my first investments. I usually classify everything down to a 20 mesh screen first and run the rest through the Gold Cube. I honestly can say it has saved me many hours of work. I have used it to go through roughly 40 pounds of concentrated material I brought back from Alaska. This material contains the finest gold I have found. It works great. Yes I lost some very fine flakes as I don’t believe there is anything that is capable of 100% capture. In an attempt to recover the lost gold I spent hours and hours going back through the material and running it on my homemade miller table. It was a waste of my time for what I eventually recovered. I have a friend who I just introduced to prospecting a couple months ago. We went out and got a few 5 gallon buckets of classified material. Took it to my house (because we were about froze) set up my Gold Cube in a recirculation configuration and ran the material in no time at all. A week or so later we went back out again and he got 3 more 5 gallon buckets. He is still on his first bucket panning. He has now asked if I can set up the Gold Cube for him to come over and run the material. Of course I will do it. But I will have to make my sales pitch to him too. Anyhow like I said I am a new wannabe prospector myself and by no means do I have very much experience. But I do know the Gold Cube has worked GREAT for me. Good luck on your decision. Like Ken said there are a LOT of videos out there. Research, research, research and then make an informed decision.

    • take a look at the new micro dram mats for the cube I think you will like them in there
