  • Has anyone used a pottery firing furnace for melting gold? They reach temps of 2500f, so should melt gold easily. Thanks Ted
  • about 2 years ago i built a smelter for aluminum. i use used motor oil as fuel. i start the motor oil with propane i connected to the forced air intake. the forced air is no more that a hair dryer duct taped to a 3' pipe. it works great! i can add photo if you would like.
  • Check out this smelter.

    • Thanks, I checked out the website and it seems to be pretty useful. We are trying to get the microgold out of our black sands without using mercury, so I will probably be scouring that website for a while. Thanks again
