about 2 years ago i built a smelter for aluminum. i use used motor oil as fuel. i start the motor oil with propane i connected to the forced air intake. the forced air is no more that a hair dryer duct taped to a 3' pipe. it works great! i can add photo if you would like.

Thanks, I checked out the website and it seems to be pretty useful. We are trying to get the microgold out of our black sands without using mercury, so I will probably be scouring that website for a while. Thanks again
hi jody bill in pittsburgh smelting is pretty easy on placer gold. hardrock gold is alot tuffer and more expensive equipment i have smelted alot of placer gold if i can help let me know later bill
