  • The way I have seen this work in the past is like this. You fill out the app and send it plus 5 dollars per acre, When your app is approved and all the I s are doted and the Ts are crossed and all is in order then you get back what is called a first half certificate of patent, which is just letting you know all is in order. At his point your claim is no longer classified as locatable mineral property, No assessment work is need to be filed. At this point it is all about money, how much will be needed to do the rest of the work which will be done by a mineral tec who will be under employment or contract of the land managing agency that controls the land that you want to patent. This all about money from this point on. The budget for doing this is very limited. I will see Shoemaker again if he shows up for a mining and jobs development summit being held in Grants Pass this coming Thursday 7-9-15 at the county fair grounds in the Floral Building at 1 pm to 6 pm. I will be there in a capacity for the mining advisory board to the county commissioners. Steven

  • You got this from a good source? I will ask the mineral admin for the Rogue River Siskiyou Forest about the issue again. Thanks for checking it out. Steven

  • Robert Shoemaker Forest Service Mineral Administrator. Rogue River Siskiyou Forest  P 541 471 6708 cell 541 613 1375 fax 541 471 6512. If you are on BLM you will have to get the number for your local office There is a bunch of stuff you have to go threw to do a patent, it is all doable and easy when you figure out the process.. Steve

  • what state is your gold deposit in? Ill get a copy of the patent application and get back to you on it, in the mean time I will look up the name and number of the minerals tec for the local  F S district. Steve

  • according to the F S minerals tec the patents are done one a year. You can get to the head of the line by sending the money they request up front for the fees. I do have the application for patent. If you are serious about pursuing it then I can help you or send you to people who have a good track record for doing this. Steve

  • Steel Pan Do you have a patent application?

  • Hey steel, hopeyour out digging and finding lots of color!! My spot is up a foot and a half, puts a lot of my area under fridgid water but it will allow my to siphon closer to the spot i want to concentrate on right now. The temp is going to be in the high 70s low 80s saturday so ithink i might head out there ill keep you posted when i can. Its been wild at my house lately. Have a good one

  • I did use a siphon on the other side of the river. I builta crashbox and used 15' of 2"corrugated hose worked great. I was thinking of making a gravity dredge using 4" corrugated pipe and venturi with 2" hose if i put the venturi close to the box it should work in or out of the water. I just got to get the venturi position right and its hard to test at home, guess ill be doing a lot of math to pull that off. Its too hot here 101 today so im not going up there till it cools. Iv been cleaning and organizing all my gear since its so hot, alsO finnishing other projects before another one pops into my head. Its funny everything i look at i try to find a prospecting use for. If im not careful ill become a hoarder. Lol
  • Well i did some work just after the falls on the other side of the river it had chunkier pieces,up stream i did some sampling and some crevising, didnt find much. The channel upstream is verry narrow and deep with sheer walls on either side. Not many deposits until much further up stream. On my side there is on spot just up from the falls that could be promising but it is a much smaller deposit. Im thinking that with the amount of fines up out of the river there must be some nice chunkier deposits as i move out into the middle. There are some large obstructions that should be good, but as they say gold is where you find it. But either way its a very good prodicer of fines and enough area to keep me busy for a while.
  • hey steel i posted the pics wish i brought a vid cam to give the best feel but its hard to take the time to record as im always anxious to get started. let me know what you think. you've seen the fines i recover in the top 6" so the gold is there i did find chunky "newer" gold on the other side of the river just not a big area to work. i know there has to be some heavier pieces around somewhere. thanks for your time
