Blue bowl help

Hi everybody, Just wondering if anyone can give me some good ideas on keeping the blue bowl water clean. I have it on a bucket sitting in a tub but after a few scoops the water gets pretty mucky. Thanks in advance.

  • We  put a brick in the bottom of the bucket and set the pump on the brick.  And we don't overdo it with Jet Dry or the water will be very bubbly and cloudy.  Trial and error and we have a good set up!  Good luck to you!

  • I use a whole house filter in a recirc blue bowl system with sand filter it last about a month before it needs changed

  • im def not a pro but i believe the blue bowl is for final concentrates. like the black sands in your sluice. get another clean bucket of water and keep it close by to use

  • i always keep my cons till i get home...i run it off of a hose..and use a tea spoon to put in cons...then when done i rerun just to make sure i get all visible gold..then i dry sands out and shake for an hour with a dab of mercury for the micro gold.

  • GOOD IDEA FROM ROY

ALSO YOU CAN USE     CLAY BE GONE      JUST ABOUT EVERY MINING SUPPLY STORE CARRIES IT. IT'S ABOUT $8 A BOTTLE BUT YOU ONLY USE A COUPLE DROPS. KEEP YOUR PUMP 3" OR SO OFF THE BOTTOM OF YOUR TANK OR BUCKET

  • I also forgot to mention is to put some of the pantie hose on both ends of the pvc to keep some of mucky from contaminating the water in the second tub. See if the holding tank with pump can be bigger than the one your working in. Also go to the hardware store and get a small bubble level to put on the center of the bowl and adjust to be level. It saves time in set up.

  • What i do is put the blue b in one buckett in a tub and the pump in another buckett next to it  then drill a hole 2"  in both of the them and put a piece of 2" pvc  between the two. Have pvc below water line with a agile to it. The water won't get mucky so fast. Plus put a pantie hose sock on the pump.

    • I'm a little late with this post but here's my two cents.  I have a tub, 33 lg  15 wd by 6 dp.  Have the gold cube set up at one end and the blue bowl at the other.  I have this set up in my basement.  Can run material thru gold cube and then run the con's thru blue bowl.  I use a small plastic dish pan to catch the runoff from the cube and when I use the blue bowl I move the pan from under the cube and put it under the bowl. Keeps the discharge from both mostly in the dish pan and water seems to stayclear for some time.  I used this set up with the cube on the beach last spring in Lake Superior.  Only problem, we run about 6 or 8  5 gal buckets in a little over an hour and had to keep the tailings cleaned out.

      • can you put an image of your set up of gold cube and blue bowl please? I'll like to try it.
