  • Screw em, guess I'm just an outlaw again.Just bought my first dredge. Actually, by passing this crap they just saved me the $150 dredge permit fee.Gonna go to a spot way back in the boonies and the politician scum can kiss my A$$!.Later-Ray
  • I wrote my letter to the Gov. this evening and got it sent off. People, don't sit on your hands on this one. Get your voice heard out there!!! coldwater gold
  • hello everyone this is Hoss, I have hunted and trapped and just ran around my whole life. I live in AZ and believe this, these so called do-gooders/environmentalist are not just in Cal.. So much land access has been closed in the last five years it is increadable. I have seen areas my grandfather and father worked closed under the pretence of STATE LAND TRUST. This is only the begining. Forget about these non-profit groups we all need to sepport the groups who have the most to lose period. The saying goes it slides down hill, believe it and we as a small group are at the bottom. I believe we need to educate both our youth as well as the legisature and only we who have a vested interest with everything to lose can do this. I believe the GPAA is one good way to start, it needs to be peaple with something to loose. These so-callede not for profit groups are really not in our intrest, check it out where really is the money going? HOSS
  • I agree, GOOD POINT!!

Do ya remember, when the "environmentalists" would "break and enter" into research labs and free all the lab animals, and trash the labs, or even burn some of them?

    Sounds like "terrorists" to me!!!

  • A couple of comments here..... First about the GPAA and it not being in the limelight and forefront, from what ive learned over the past few years, they do more in the background than most of the folks who complain AFTER THE FACT has passed, but being a "FOR PROFIT" corporation they have to be more careful in what they say and where they say it since the GPAA and LDMA are in more than one state and jurisdiction with their projects, claims and so forth. Where the modern 49ers are in one or two forests and in Northern California they only have to put up with a couple of jurisdictions if someone tries to shut them down exclusively, they can fight in a concise manner and do so openly.... a little more vocal. The other organizations are out there and fighting too, vocally and openly. Some of the mining suppy companies donate a HUGE amount of products which are in turn raffled off to supply the much needed fodder to rent an attorney to keep the fight in the realm of the courts, other monies are paid to professional lobbyists who can reach the ear of the individual legislater more effectively most of the time than any dozen folks who try to get through and "leave a message" [but dont stop trying keep pounding the phone lines and sending email and candy-grams]

And finally, has anyone checked the finacial reports of these so-called 501 c 3 non-profit organizations who call themself "environmental groups" but beg for "donations" and yet never complete a project they set out to do, like "restore the wild life" on the endangered or threatened species list to remove it from being in danger...... has anyone ever questioned them about why nothing is done if they indeed are getting so many funds? Where is their dollars going? it aint all to attorneys or the pockets of legislaters is it? then they would not truly be doing what their own charters propose they are suposed to be doing are they???? just a thought. Ask your local IRS agent to look into the funds of these so called not for profits organizations and see if they have proper accounting...... perhaps if they are "terrorizing" the domestic population with their mailings, advertisments, commercials and radio spots perhaps the department of Homeland security should look into their "backgrounds" and see where they are actually spending their "donations" and who is "donating" ......... someone once said it is money that makes certain political issues go around...... cut off the money supply and the group dies out.......

    Just my thoughts and comments......

  • Friends, is right. It all starts in Cal.
The "Left Wing Radical Extremists", hang their "home sweet home" sign in the "Golden State".
....and the mess they made of Cal., is overflowing into Nev.
A lot of Cal. escapees just won't leave the real prob behind. It's their "frame of mind".
They don't get it, "No matter where ya go, there ya are!".
The change must take place inside, otherwise all remains the same. Only the faces and locations change.
I suppose that Nev, and Arizona are next. If not Oregon and Wash.
  • I admit I should have waited to post this blog instead of doing it just after reading about the facts, when I first found out all of my efforts suddenly seemed pointless, I felt ignored, but after the initial emotional reaction, I realized that they are not my efforts, but our efforts, this does not affect us individualy, but as a whole.
  • Its true I have been personaly writing my senator for a year now, I have sent hand written, and e-mail. And I agree, if we all made a respectfull noise at once maybe our combined interest would be heard, It is hard to not to emotionally react to this and other bills that significantly impact the use of our public lands, as far as I understand, most of the Karuk tribe is in opposition to this bill, it is a few Karuks who have alighned themselves with special interest groups, this is what is causing the problem, without a combined effort on all of our parts, we will lose our rights in public lands. If you use puplic lands for anything then it is in your best interest as well as ours to call, write your senator, congressmen, govenor, whoever it takes, , and let your voice be heard , we have to hold back our emotions and be respectfull and humbled, yet we must also be staunt and consitant in our efforts to be heard, if just a few emotional letters get recieved then we are veiwed as a few loose cannons, if we use our shields of common sense and spears of constitutional rights, we create a wedge formation and march to the heart of the matter, complaicency is a killer of rights, we must not be complaicent in these matters, alot of us have served this country and defended the rights of those trying to take them from us, but we also defended our rights to not let this happen, we must stand as a unit and we will be heard, write, call, and be concerned everyday, we have to become the shepards and not the sheep, we are Americans and we will not back down.
  • truer words have never been spoken faaus thanks open your eyes and see what is takeing place everyone
  • I received a letter from 49ers about the bill, asking for people to contact legislators, even if we are from another state, a couple weeks ago.
