    Southern Nevada here and new to prospecting. Have only done metal detecting so far and haven’t found anything other than trash and lead. Anyone from Vegas/Henderson want to join me one weekend or the other way around I’m always looking to learn.

    Have you guys heard of the guy out of Ely leasing his property to prospectors in or near Osceola for a $1000 a year? He had an add places on ksl classifieds earlier this year indicating there were guys there working on his claim making 500$ an hour with a sluice and that he himself found 7000 ounces on his own that year. I almost went out there to meet him for myself but it just sounded too good to be true. Was just checking to see if you guys heard anything about that...

    Hey Paul, I still check in once in a while but haven't been doing much lately. I'll start back in doing some prospecting when it cools a little. Now i'm just doing research looking for some new spots and cleaning up what I have.

Moved from Oregon a few months ago so still kinda new to the area. I'm a GPAA member and have been out to the temple claim a few times but haven't found anything yet. I've heard lots about Rye Patch but looking on LR2000 and minecache it looks like the area is all claimed up. Is there anywhere else to go in the area? Is there anyone in the area that would be willing to show me some of the tricks in this hard rock area.

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I moved back here to Arizona and my big plans to go to Winnemucca and prospect the Majubas went up in smoke. A little medical problem and some RV problems and Voila! Here I still iz! I am still haunted by the pull I get from Nevada and my desires to prospect there! Nevada is still an area that isn't over populated with snowbirds and winter prospectors. It gets too overcrowded here at times, even if there is good gold here, I need space. Nam Vet stuff I suppose…

Dredging

  Hey all, does anybody know offhand, about the dredging laws in Nevada? The Carson, Walker, Humbolt, Owyhee and others? I have some stuff from NV BLM but it's hard to make heads or tails, I'm gettin' old I guess. I know both wet and dry dredging has been done in the past, but is it still legal or what? Are there areas that are closed out or is everything shut down? There are several areas that I would at least want to highbank/powersluice. Do I need to contact the different areas of BLM? I…
