Dredging

Hey all, does anybody know offhand, about the dredging laws in Nevada? The Carson, Walker, Humbolt, Owyhee and others? I have some stuff from NV BLM but it's hard to make heads or tails, I'm gettin' old I guess. I know both wet and dry dredging has been done in the past, but is it still legal or what? Are there areas that are closed out or is everything shut down? There are several areas that I would at least want to highbank/powersluice. Do I need to contact the different areas of BLM? I have to tell ya that, every year we have been coming to the Klamath and now the Rogue and it's getting crowded around here with no more dredging in California, although my buds are now getting about a pennyweight per hour, it's all gonna end by 1 sept. I'd like to keep my dredge running if at all possible, it hasn't paid for itself yet. I still got the old reliable drywasher but where the money is, has to be in the water, doesn't it? I mean statistically, more earth is moved by many creeks to a river than one wash out in the desert. Dredging is not for me, I've got too many medical problems for me to be gettin' wet all the time. But I have the equipment, someone to operate it and I'd like to keep using it. If someone or everyone would get back to me and let me know in laymans terms, I would appreciate it.

    • Thanks Mark, I e-mailed them instead, I get too many dropped calls out here in the boonies. They seem to be a good and knowledgeable outfit and I can give them some business in trade for info. Believe me, any info is appreciated. I'm thinking of wintering up in Nevada and working some of the places in the northern middle of the state. i'm spending all my remaining time in Oregon researching Nevada and as much of the placer deposits as I can. I appreciate your help. ~Dan
