"3 to 4.3 Billion Barrels of Technically Recoverable Oil Assessed in North Dakota and Montana’s Bakken Formation—25 Times More Than 1995 Estimate—"

" Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet?  Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along.   If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain"

  • So, here we are, five mo. later,.....

there is a 2% drop in our supply from Libia and our, USA, fuel prices are once more climbing.

There always seems to be an excuse around this time of year.

If we stop selling our oil and buying others' oil, should oughta even out, right?

    If it doesn't, DRILL!

    • Hey, Steel Pan. Well we do have our oil reserves out by Bakersfield. Lots of oil there. Had it for years. It's listed on most maps as Naval Reserve. We will never see it touched but maybe our kids will. We don't even have that many ships out there depending on it, but if war broke out and maybe another Pearl Harbor attack happened, the old oil burners will be taken out of mothballs and be pressed back into service. If we can find sailors for them.
      • True, we have lots of reserves but we need to take some of the burden off the general public and drill more new wells. We can't afford to keep supporting OPEC and the like. As the Mid-East unrest continues, we're having to pay for their mistakes. Bring our money home!

Spend those monies at home and that will stimulate the economy.

        • Well we have to keep our reserves simply to keep OPEC from stopping the flow in case we have a war they decide they don't like. The Abrams tank isn't called a "chicken cooker" for nothing. You can literally cook a chicken from the heat off the diesel! Tastes a little oily though. There is no piece of equipment that we have now that doesn't gulp fuel. Bring back the Jeep! That little 4 cylinder could run for days. Great for prospecting too!
  • Its nice to see ND get a little, and there are lots of jobs up there to, BUT the housing sucks there is none thay are working on it but that take a long time ,and witer is around the corner I my self would not like to tent it but if youdo more power to you and good luck.
  • Its a really interesting find though, nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
    • I like how they say its Opec funding the evironutz!

So we got allot of oil under us!
  • Okay, so how do we keep it out of Obamas hands? I dunno about anyone else but I do know that there are a lot of people who are not too happy with this administration and they are posting signs all along the roadways telling America to "wake up"!. I for one, have lost all faith and trust in this presidency. If you travel any of the backroads in America or at least in the west, you will see places that were open the last time you went by but are closed now. Why, if we are in a financial rise, are there so many places shutting down? I don't blame anyone for wanting a "change" but has it been a change for the good? It just doesn't seem that way. I admit I didn't vote for him, mainly because I knew nothing about him or where he even came from, but I did know Johnnie Mack and I voted for a man who already went through Hell on Earth and could understand the thoughts of all men who are created equals. I don't think any man who could survive the torture of being a P.O.W. could not know how others feel and how equal we all really are. This is sounding like a political statement and it wasn't meant to be, more than likely it will be Newt Gingrich going for the 2012 platform anyway and I have nothing against him, he knows what the "Cardoba House Mosque" really entails to our enemies at least.
  • I remember reading about this report about two years ago. The key words are "technically recoverable". That could be very expensive. Big difference for oil companies is they need "cheaply recoverable" in a relative sense to make it work profitably.
