Hi all, I know what I need to pan, sluice, high bank in my home territory of Oregon and California. The question is what will I need to be legal while vacationing this summer in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota, Looking at their various web sites has only reinforced my disdain for lawyer-speak. We will not be doing any dredging. Your help would be muchly appreiciated..

One more thing, a big thing......
Check on the mining/prospecting laws are for each state you will "conduct operations".
A prospectors' store in an area can give ya the skinny.
If you belong to a club, check out their claims, and members' rules for prospecting.
You're pretty safe, as long as ya don't dredge in Kalif.
