  • Be warned, geocommunicator has very limited claim info and a lot of claims are not even shown on there. I wasted a lot of time on there thinking it had accurate information. Our claim is listed, but the shape and both sections of land are not shown correctly. None of the claims around us are listed on there even though they are valid claims and listed on the LR2000. I found the best way to research Mining Claims is to Use Google Earth with the Earthpoint Townships .kml file. Find the section of land you are interested in and look it up on the LR2000
. I have found that the LR2000 is generally kept up to date. You will need to pull the claim files at the BLM to get maps of claims to know size/location for sure.
  • Wow, just what I was searching for. Thank you so much.
  • One point,
Always check with the county seat to get "up to date" info for the area you intend to prospect.
I use geocommunicator a lot, it is a great tool for locating areas of interest."
