It has been determined that by wearing denim pants, 80% of snake venom is absorbed by the denim at the time of a snake bite.
So, when you are out in the wild, wear full length denim pants and high top leather boots.

Irish Setter snake boots that they sale at Dick's is what my son and I use. we wear blue jeans with double
leg inserts ( jean leg inside jean leg) this wears better than wearing two pair of pants
when we are in an area that we might need them. We have only run in rattle snakes once and that was
in North Carolina/Tenn. Smokies Area, and they were small, most of the time it is Cotton mouths or
copper heads metaldetecting treasure hunting in the low country and in the midlands area. We have not
seen to many around the faster moving streams up around greenville, spartenburg area but we have seen
then when we set up the sleuce box in slower streams around pacolet sc area. on warm days.
that was an informative although surprising segment on the news. I would have neverguessed it.
something about the chemical properties of denim. I wonder who the tester was.
If anyone has any more info on this I'd like to hear.
