I must say, there have been raving reviews of the "Falcon" detectors, but I have a delema.
The type of detector that I am seeking, is one that I can use to quickly scan the tailings pile of screened out over sized material that I don't run through my sluice. 1/8 inch and up.
From what I was told, the "Falcons" are more for use on individual specimens and not timely for use in scanning a pile of tailings.
I am drawn to the "Falcon" partly because of the price. I really don't want to dump a lot of cash for the larger detectors.
In light of what I've been told about the "Falcons", can anyone recommend a low priced detector for the purpose of scanning small tailings piles?
Any advise greatly appreciated.

I have no problem going over someones tailing pile for them with my GB2. It only takes a few minutes.
Before you buy any other metal detector for gold, you need to take a small nugget, the smallest one you can live with, and use it to test the metal detector your buying. Don't go by what you see in print from the manufacturer.
