Hi I need some input.I have a 8 foot X 15 1/2 inch wide dredge sluice with the first set of riffles is 3/4 inch high X 2 foot long,second I have a 1 inch high X 2 foot long and then a set of 1 1/2 inch high X 3 foot long riffles. My question is what size punch plate do I need,and carpeting.What do I need to finish this?Also I am running a 11 hp engine and a P350 keene pump ( 4x3 ), with a 4 inch nozzle.Am I going to blow every thing out the back and less my gold?Thanks for any help.
Guess I'm wondering what you're asking at this point... Are you just wondering what to put under your riffles? If that assumption is correct, I would do half with a simple deep V matting and half with carpet. Seems like you have a HUGE amount of riffles to catch the gold and I would keep it simple.
Keep in mind one of my BIGGEST gripes. Do NOT put punch plate under riffles and above matting. I HATE when some manufacturers do this. You can literally see light shining through the bottom of your riffles where it is supposed to be DEAD TIGHT.
Again, with that big of a sluice, I would keep it simple. Very cool though.
looks to me like you got a defeat of purpose if you need all that leingh to catch the fine gold in my opion i would start over i run both a 5 inch and a 4 inch dredge with the same motors and pumps on the 5 inch 9 hp honda with thep350 4x3 the 4 inch i use a 6.5 hp motor with a p190 pump i also run( 2) 6.5 motors and p 180 pumps on the 5 inch also the 5 inch is 5 foot long and 20 inches wide the 4 inch is a home built 3 stage i dont lose any fine gold there are a lot of things you can do with most any dredge or highbanker to improve the recovery of gold something that long in my opion is a waste of time money and a lot of bad trying to gain what you are trying to do take a good look at the pics of my home built 5inch 3 stage dredge 2 years ago we took out 60 ounces of gold with it last year over 24 ounces most of this gold is under 30 mesh
