hey thanks all..
Short answer is ...yes. I have the same pump/motor and have run over 400 feet to my highbanker without problems. 2% over 400' is only 8 feet of altitude gain, so head loss due to altitude gain is a whopping 3.464 psi. The friction loss for 400'will be worse but still workable for a highbanker.
Like the link Orrin, it is a good one, relatively simple terms,,,,, must have been made for me!
The Honda 6.5 with the Proline HP400 is a very strong setup.
Use 2" hose, since that's what the output side of the pump is. In my experience, the flimsy, blue hose will not hold up.
use a bigger hose and you will get more water to the place you are pumping it to. Or use plastic pipe. How high are you lifting the water? Steve
Scott not knowing what the spec's on the pump itself are and what you are planning to do with the water once you pump it that far, you might find this article helpful. http://www.onestopfire.com/head.htm
