Along with David's good advice below is malleability. If its large enough to press between two harder surfaces and it doesn't break apart but flattens out some it's a good sign. Keep in mind even if it breaks apart it can be gold impregnated with other materials. Hope this helps
If it shines in the sun,shade it: does it still shine?If it does probably gold,but if it dims it's pyrite most likely,gold keeps it's luster even in the shade. Hope this helps David out

My guess would be mica. Looks like gold flakes but very light and wants to wash out of the pan very easily. Dickb
