Ok, so Since I have been sitting around, I have been looking at a bunch of different types of highbankers and I drew up my own plans. I am currently working on fabricating it with the metal shop class at the local high school. Basically its going to have a 3x2x2 crash box and the material will drop into a 5' sluice that I am making also. I can fabricate alot but I dont know anything about pumps. Any ideas on what type of pump, size and how much money they run. I am tring to get it up and running before I start the move down to KY, that way I can work all the bugs out up here while I have a shop that I can readily use.

Get a trash pump from harbor freight at lest 2" size.
What size crash box??? 3x2x2. Inches or feet? Either one seems to be the wrong size. Either you have a mighty small H Banker or a mighty big one. I vote for big.
Hmmm. I have two inputs about this.
1. I have a cubic upright highbanker and it came with a 1.5hp pump which wasnt quite enough.
2. Some BLM and USFS places will not allow pumps greater than 5hp.
Otherwise get as big as you need to wash what you can dig. Bigger eat more gas which you gotta buy and haul.
Crash boxes are varied, some not worth a hoot.
Good luck.

Thats a good idea, we have one in town and I might get a chance to go check it out and do some price shopping. The shop students and I started to work on getting everything sized and cut. I will post some pictures later next week.
kev i mention clearwater pumps from harbor freight that will work as well as the pacer pumps that you can get almost anywhere i am sorry if your offerded by my choice of pumps being the keene set up its still what i have and use as well as a couple of the b and s with the pacer
The problem with that is there is no store for prospectors with in 2 hours that I have found. I think I am just going to go with one of the 2" clear pumps from Harbor Freight.
Nope sounds good I am going to look into those. What do I need to look as far as volume and things like that. Or do I need to just look at the hose size. Also can you get all the fittings and hose from Harbor Freight or do they generally have to be bought somewhere else. Any suggestions.
