Ok you all that have been looking for heaters I have a friend that found one I'm going to try. He has a helper that watches the sluice box and the heater ( it's always better to have someone with you ) plus the loading and unloading is helpful as well. Here is the unit they are using, it's a DIY so always use at you on RISK!! If you do a little online shopping you can find them from $139.00 at Wal-Mart to $127.69 at planet optics . com

quick question and idea would it be possible to use a insulated bottle to stor extra hotwater coming out of the heater to go to the suit ?
I see no need to the hot water will last a while, and every 20min's it times out, after the heaters cool you can request another 20min's of hot water by opening the valve with a 7mm suite one 20 min round should last for a while
I would love to see a picture of your dredge mounts for your heater and tank. I have both setup for bank use but need to mount them on my dredge.
Here is a video on hookups for the heater.
Here is a video from Handegaard (rip) on a exhaust heater. Much more complicated.
I'm getting some pics soon as I can.
Wasn't handegaard build a custom job done by a local contractor.
Might be mistaken we tried to build a exhaust heater and it failed
Cheers
Exhaust heaters from what I have seen can be dangerous! I like steam shrimp on the bank, and since my first post the heaters have been going for around $69. bucks on eBay I'm looking a 6 L 2.5 gal seems to be the highest flow, min keep in mine you have 20 mins of hot flow that's the safety shut off my friend says keeps you well for around 2 hours or so! Then you resurge for 20 mins this should = two rounds of hot water per tank of gas or so.
a on draw that runs on propane will run for hours and you can set the heater to the exact temp you want. check into Rv shops and such might be able to get a used or a reman one cheap and they don't weight much
Hey Lloyd, I saw there was a auto shut off and my guessing is so you will not burn out the heat exchanger or melt it down. I got a high flow pump today at a great price, can you tell us how you rigged you water flow through the heater? and how you have to reactivate the burner after the 20 shut down? thank any info will help. I'm going to GA. for the weekend but will be in touch thanks for the info. hey if your back at the camp see if you can snap some pictures to.
I will get pictures this weekend for you. But we have 1/2" water hose coming off the Keene pump to feed the heater. Then 1/2" hose going from heater to the weight belt with a "Y valve on it. This gives us the ability to purge the cold water out of the line before we send it into the suite. We open the first valve up and feel when the water gets warm, then turn that valve off and open the second valve up. It has a 1/2" hose going into the back of are wet suite (down the neck). We have the air line and water hose ran into a piece of flex sleeve with some Coke bottles taped to it, so the line floats and hoses dont get tangled up.
