Well Larry, to "learn the ropes" so to speak, concider further, the idea of a club membership.
One I belong to is only $45 a year.
You can work with veteran prospectors and pick thier brains.
Put that up against $1500 and,........
Realize that you need to file appropriate forms for transfer of ownership, and follow up each year, or you lose your claim.
Take your time in selecting a claim. Preferably claim your own. It's a lot cheaper.
I researched my particular claim for over a year. I learned quite a bit about the area, the claim, and in my case, the previous claimants. Research pays off, no matter where you are. You either go ahead, or move on. Make an educated decision, not an emotional one. Simple as that.
