I made my own one way valve in the section the 3/4" suction tube is attached to the 1 1/4 tubing. Works great with water. Figure I can use a suction tube as long as the pump stroke which is about one meter.
Have you tested it yet, what keeps the material from going back out the nozzle instead of going into the hose and to your bucket/sluice, I don't see a check valve which I think would be needed for it to work correctly?
Yes 4" longer draw length is alot. Plus just like a bow you don't have to pull it all the way back. I made it to reach under the huge boulders we have and deep holes on small streams.
Spur if you mean by trap I will run 7 foot hose to a bucket or my sluice box n I made it for testing streams for colors and some area's don't allow using my power dredge.
I have no problem pulling it back. Overall length is 5 foot long with a plunger pull of about 39 inches. I shoot uncut arrows from my recurve 34" draw length.
