the outside of it looks like datolite, but I would be surprise to find one there. especially one that size. Interesting though. Is it metallic inside? Maybe the university there can test it if they have a geo program.
Interesting it looks like it has been melted and were we found it there is nothing close for miles the creek runs through fields and woods with no one living close to it.

It might be nickle. The color where it is chipped would be about right.
Its very hard and heavy but its not magnetic but I can put an ohm meter on it and it will ohm out so its conductive.
