  • hi Steve. I just came back from Union flats area again. Good area on the river. Not as productive as Jamestown was, but was relaxing. What area up there peaks your interest?..
  • there is a GPAA camp in Columbia , calif. Just off hwy. 49 !!! it is a very narrow road, down to the river !!!
  • Forgot to mention I use a leg stand from Jobe and have used 1/2 in square tubing to make the legs longer so I can get it over the edge of the tub.
  • Steve, I thought you might be interested in a recirculating sluice. I posted pictures on my page of the one I built. I used a small Keene sluice (6 1/2" in wide) and had a sheet metal place build me a header box. I used 3/4 in PVC for the fittings and a 1500 GPH bilge pump. The pump uses less than 5 amps and I got a marine battery rated at 115 amp hours so I can run it for 24 hours without recharging the battery. I use a large tote and 18-20 gal of water and it runs great. Might be something to try in the desert.
