  • Hey Pappy! I worked with a bunch of 5th SF guys in Nam! Had fun at the "Playboy Club" in Nha Trang too! I can't remember any names or nothing, heck it might even have been you! Nha Trang '69 & '70. Had some friends over at Recondo too.
  • Gotta cha. Been several years since I been up that way. You folks got snow yet?

  • Pappy it (Minneapolis) is north east of spruce pine which is the othwer way from Burnsville.but all is pretty.
  • Hey Pappy, hope you are doing well and had a great turkeyday. BTW my son's name is David. Is this who you mean by "Mike"?
I did check some quartz that David had collected and had already gone through. I used the gold Bug and found 2 likelies. When I cracked them I found one piece of pyrite the other a little piece of gold specimen. Not too big but pretty.

I'm trying to sell about a half ounce of my gold flake if you know anyone interested. I need it for wife's Christmas. I e-mailed and messaged Jeff, but in typical Jeff manner, he hasn't bothered to answer. I will sell fairly cheap.

Anyway, David and I are still waiting on his friend to take us to the part of his land that used to be gold bearing. Probably will not go now until spring.

Hang in there, my friend. hope to see you soon.
  • David and I will be at the Renaissance Festival all day Saturday (Grandson's B-Day). In Sunday or late Saturday I need to buy a new bowl for my Goldwheel (all my bumps are worn down). Watch out for those hunters. Wear something orange. I hope you find a big-un.
