  • I started out the same way, although i did buy a blue bowl and a foldup sluice i aquired a keen A52 from a neighbor who had to give up prospecting due to health reasons. But in all honesty i do much better using the sluices i built my self on the cheap! The first sluice i built was called the roll up sluice look it up on you tube. It works great, just have to clean up more often but it only takes a minute or two. To build it you just need some corrugated irrugation tube 4" or larger and a heat gun take your time 12' costs about 10$ youll need the extra for trial and error. The next one i used an old truck bed liner and an old stop sign i got from work for a frame total cost 5$ had to pay for the rtv silicone. This is my favorite as it can handle more material and is alot more forgiving in various current conditions i also made my own bucket top classifiers i cut the top of some old buckets using a skill saw and attached 1/4" wire mesh with small nuts and bolts they work great. Now if i need or want a new peice of equipment i just save the gold i recover to buy it. I believe there is more satisfaction in recoveringmgold with something i built than with something i bought. Right now im working on a home made crack vac battery powered i have a bunch of small 12v batteries my neighbor gave me. And i have a small weed eater motor im converting to a water pump backpack size for those hard to get to places with slow water ill make my own current good luck
  • good luck to you and let us no what you build
