Hello everyone, I live in Vincennes Indiana which has the Walbash river bordering it. This is a very old River and I'm wondering if there could be any gold on it? Or am I wasting my time I need to look elsewhere.
Thank you very much Mark

There has been some good gold found on the Wabash River... Take to heart what David Olson said though.
My understanding is you need to get to bedrock or pre ice age river beds. Based on what I know about the Wabash, it has a lot of sediment on top of the bedrock. I would look near New Harmony in the creek beds with a lot bedrock and fossils for gold. The other option that seems viable is to get access to the gravel pits and look for gold near the wash stations.
