I just saw this posted on another forum, so it looks like the judge has issue an order for the state of California to stop issuing dredging permits, but I didn't see any mention of you not being able to dredge if you have already bought your permit, the PLP is already preparing a Federal Lawsuit, but it looks like it will be a month before they file the lawsuit, IT"S TIME TO SEND THE PLP SOME DONATIONS TO HELP WITH THIS LAWSUIT, KEENE HAS STARTED IT OF WITH A $5000 DONATION, Send what you can before this spreads across the country http://www.icmj.com/news-detail.php?id=31&keywords=Suction_gold_dredging_grinds_to_a_halt_in_California Here what Jerry Hobbs posted on the PLP forum... http://www.plp2.org/forum/showthread.php?t=514 Skip

  • The man just keeps on keeping us down. Hummm was looking at getting back in prospecting again after 15 years But then I might just buy that sailboat I been looking sail the world and get off the grid . But then I do miss the flash in the pan. Was looing a buying up a couple of claims that would be good for dredging in Calf. will have to hold off on that now. Would not be able to work them till next year anyway
    • This court order is just a miner set back. The New 49'ers. and PLP are on top of this and fighting for our small scale mining rights as we speak. If you want to be a part of the soulution to this problem please donate to both legal funds as much as you can. We will hold our ground only by standing together and using the legal process. Set down and write the governor of California and ask him to "VETO" , Senate Bill SB 670.
      • I have wrote letters, donated money, bought raffle ticketes for some really good products. had orange cards filled out. But I am just one. it takes alot to "Get er Done".
My grandfather came here from Germany in the 1800's, gold mining was in his blood, he ended up going to Ak had a claim there. My other grandfather mined for gold out of necessity, it was during the depression, lost his job in San Jose, he was a rock mason. came to Calaveras coutny,Ca. My dad and my mom also had a hard rock mine and they also dredged for gold, my mom would sell it to the local Jewerly store to help feed us. So do I want to see many generatiions of rights taken from us. I do not think so.
  • yes nothing there that says existing permits. and yes, let us all mind our manners. and follow all the rules that comes on all the paper they send us. I wonder if they choose to close the river if it mean to everything and everyone...hummmmm???? 100 ft from the rivers edge, hummm??? how far can they throw their net to catch those Salmon??
  • those with 09 permits, keep going. dont toot ur horns, run a clean camp, no shootin etc. blm officers not dfg officers will be the interpretation test. without a written and signed received notification, your 09 permit is valid.that doesnt mean that a dept of interior gunslinger wont write you up. but its doubtful he will do more than that, if your politely firm.sb670 is the other shoe waiting to drop. on its way to arnies desk now.LOL
  • welllll, yes and no. the wording in the opinion is a bit cloudy. there is a moritorium on any sale of new dredge permits.the injunction as worded, does not seem to address those who already hold 09 permits.or maybe im missing something here.naturally all dfg offices are closed today 7-10. until i receive a letter from dfg, im not pulling mine out.methinks there is an implied contract involved.they took my money, issued a permit stamp, and should be liable to notify me of changes to the terms and conditions.dont try this at home.
