Siskiyou Monument

Does everyone know about the Siskiyou Monument? The Govt of the Republic of California or maybe it's Federal I am not too sure, is but a penstroke away from making Northern Calif a freaking monument! That means all of the people who are living in that area, Happy Camp included, will have to move out! That is the entire Klamath River and the Scott and Salmon Rivers! What the hell? You can watch a short U-Tube video of what is happening by clicking on the URL below. Towards the end, it talks about all the land the govt has grabbed in the western states. When I was in Happy Camp this year, there were several signs on peoples property saying "No Monument" but I thought it was a local thing like a statue or something and blew it off! This is just another sneaky way for them to take away our rights as prospectors! My Gawd if Obama knew how much this would destroy for us, he would sign that in a heartbeat! Who would we have to beg to go prospecting next? You better get your galoshes and your San Francisco Knee Pads ready to go begging because we ain't gonna have no place else to go, real soon. I dunno about you but I carry enough ammo to make my point! I am not instigating violence but I will protect myself! Yeah and I fought for this country, only to have it systematically chopped up so that I have few rights in my chosen recreation. I had five brothers who also served and I'm becoming ashamed to say what they were heroes for! Step aside small people, only your government has a right to be here.

  • 5o people showed up thursday 10/7/10 in Applegate Oregon to voice thier opinion on The Siskiyous National Monument Proposal. Two Web sites with Info on this are SiskyouCrestNationalMonument siskiyoucrest.org or landrights.org the Artical that I read was in the Record Searchlight Redding Ca.
it can be found on redding.com It looks like time too fight again !
    • Robert [Bob] at Armadillo Mining in Grants Pass has attended the meetings to advocate our rights but the last time I saw him, he was shaking his head.
  • My friends were planning to work some of Indian Creek this winter. I guess that's out now. They make a lot of speeches but from what I see it is still mostly directed towards prospectors. If you click on "threats", the first item is mining. That figures towards the slant.
    • Yeah bro, it sucks.. Anti mining seems to be the big thing in Cali, and Oregon .
Hey.. We gotta save the fish right ? So the Karuks can kill em right !?
Uhg.. Don't get me started ..
  • Yeah,I've been following that for a while ..This area is already Natl. forest, BLM, or designated wilderness area, and does not include privatly owned properties . It sucks because it will effectively end any hopes
of mining that area, but Happy Camp won't have to move .And I'm not sure if it would affect pattented claims or not .
This area is but a small piece of the land grab though, many millions of acres in the west are slated for the same fate .
I own claims just south of there, luckily I was spared ..
