Fellow prospectors;
Planning a trip to Buena Vista, Co. next spring.
GPAA has some claims there, Is there anyone on this site that can give any clue to the area, how good it is . Any info on the claims or the river would be greatly appreciated.!!!!
Thanks for your time, Contrygal

Here is current information for Cache Creek. http://www.blm.gov/co/st/en/fo/rgfo/minerals/locatable_minerals/cac...
There is only 1 private claim on the Arkansas River just upstream of the GPAA claim where a Dredging permit has been issued. The other GPAA claims are dry most of the year.

Cache Creek is a fun place to prospect. Lots of other people there. Too many on holidays.
I dredged on the river in 2011. Fine gold no flakes. At that time you needed a permit. They have been getting more restrictive every year.
Here is a link to the water flow data. The river is usually high until the fourth of July.
not sure about that area but im in delta colorado and the dolores river and san magille river are both good now. gpaa has claims on both areas and some public on there to
No dredging or highbanking on the Ark. Spring is too early, mid summer like right now is a good time on the river. Snow melt has slowed down. GPAA claims are pan and sluice only. Cache Creek would probably be the only place you might do a little yella. dickb
