I'm in the process of building a micro/mini cleanup sluice. I want it to be arecirculating, what would be a good size pump to use. My sluice is going to be 4 inches wide by 24 inches long, any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I thought about the bilge pump, but are they submersible? I was thinking about a submersible fountain pump @ about 150 gph, but now not looking like that will be enough flow.

A 500 gph bilge pump should be fine for a micro/mini. Put a valve in the line if you want to adjust the flow.
I saw the 500 gph bilges at Walmart for $19.99, looks like thats the way to go....Thanks John and Sonny for your thoughts.
Yes bilge pumps are submersible, you can get them cheap at Wal-Mart. John
Also you can get bilge pumps at boat supply stores. I got a Johnson 750 GPH for about $25 at the Hardware store. John
I use a 500 Gal Per Hour Bilge pump on mine
