Pahrump NV

I'm going to a firearms instructor class in Pahrump NV and will be ther 1/27 - 2/1 and may have some time in the PM on those dates to do a little diggin. Is there anyone out that that would either want to go for a few hours or that could "tell me where to go" LOL.

I am from Florid and have never been prospecting before but did join the GPAA so at least I have a gold pan and snuffer bottle.

Thanks for any advice.

  • Oh so that's where those houses are. Funny. I guess I will steer clear and hope to get lucky finding gold instead.

I don't know how long my classes are going to last each day - its more of a job interview really.

I want to move out of Florida and get closer to the gold.

    Thanks for the info

    • No problem Jeff. Good luck! I have family scattered throughout the south including Florida. I too prefer the wide open, less humid, less complicated life out here in the west. There is still plenty of gold left, I'm sure. Little Johnnie is a known placer area and you could probably rent a detector and get instructions if you have the time and wherewithall.
  • Hey Jeff. Head North from Pahrump on the 160 and you will find the Congress mine, the Labbe Mine and the little Johnnie mine. The Congress is on the west side and the other two on the east. I can't say you will find gold, noone can but the Little Johnnie was known for placer. You should think of getting either a drywasher or a metal detector. Hint: drywasher is cheaper. As you drive along the 160, about 8-10 miles you will find the ghost-town of Johnnie on the west side of the road. It will be before you get past the gap through the ridge. Pahrump and the little town of Crystal have known houses of legal prostitution so if you are not into that be careful. I aint no saint, just given advice. If you want to see te UAV's in flight, go to Creech AFB in Indian Springs off 95. They also have a casino there. Have fun. The Terrible Herbst Casino in Pahrump is nice with pools and fountains and with an RV park.
