Kevin...sounds good. We will see what we can plan before too long. I'm on a fairly tight budget myself and the BLM lands are EXACTLY where I go...plus some private lands that I have written permission for. As for the GPANM, I checked into them when i signed-up with GPAA back in March. They have a full membership roster right now and a waiting list for new members as I was told by their Sec./Treas. The cost for signing-up with them is $60/year and that also covers the cost of getting you a permit through their club for their outings. As I said last night, I have a CRAZY work schedule...I'm a DoD firefighter. So, with that in mind, hit me up and we'll see what we can get together for. I don't have a lot of equipment either, but I do have some experience...not a lot, but some! LOL!! Maybe we can hit some of the GPAA claims and just do some panning. I checked with them because of my oldest daughter and they told me that I can take up to 4 guests to a claim but all they are allowed to do is panning...until they join, of course. I dont know about the clubs in your area. But the one here there is no fee to join. I just had to show up and sign a waiver and that was it. I have been there 4 or 5 times now and gotten a little gold each time. But like Ollie suggested, check the BLM
