i commented at the chat the other day that im from california and just started this prospecting life i never thought i would be looking for gold but i would like to share my story and see if i could get any good advice ??

A month ago my wife got a call from her dad telling her that in one of his lots in mexico he had found gold but didnt have the right equipment to be able to start pulling it out, his story was that an old man came to the ranch asking people to see if they wanted to check if they had gold in there properties, he said sure so they went out there checked by panning and saw that there was gold they brought an old sluice box and started working 4 to 5 hours a day so long story short they said they moved like about 1 ton and 1/2 of material and pulled out about 10 grams. so i did my research and said well why not i am go and see if i could pull this off so i leave from california with my kids and wife and head out to the a little ranch in mexico, we get there and i make a wooden sluice box and run 65 buckets of material threw the sluice this takes me about 2 weeks because the dirt is so hard stuck together so i had to put in water and break it down to be able to run it threw well we estimated that about 65 buckets would be a little over a ton of material but in are recovery i only get about 1 gram back of gold so im bumed that i didnt do it right or something went wrong or maybe theres not as much gold as we thought. i have no experience what so ever in this i dont now if i should keep on trying or stop. the piece of land has to faults that come together on to a green type of rock i found alot of little pieces of quartz in the dirt and also some in the land but no so big so ive been reading maybe i could be on to something or not, from what i seen this could be a residual deposit meaning the lode could be close by. any opinion would be very helpful.
