Meteroite or Meterwrong?

Mohave Desert found it with his gold bug metal detector about 2 feet down in the ground. it has since I got it been cut with a diamond saw burned up a motor very hard like nickel magnetic also. if someone has a idea what it is let us know, doesnot leave a streak with porcelon. thanks George W   weighs 15 pounds.

  • Have you tried a magnet? I know of a great person/place to get answer/s. The Victor Valley College(Victorville, CA.) Has

a  geology program, and, the teacher/professor  will answer yay or nay. I don't think he gives appraisals.  I have 2 friends that took their specimans (at different times). One WAS a meteorite, the other was a wolley mammoth f0ssil.  I would love to know more about location.  I live in Apple Valley.  You probably have your answer by now. I just noticed date of this question.  Anyway if you see this email me.  Maybe we could go hunting for more meteorites!!!  Linda Chapman

  • George if you can get a good Picture of the window you cut (close up) one of the guys on here could probably tell you for sure,  also there are some sites out there of meteor collectors that are the real Knowledgable

  • no Howard just washed the dirt off , that is the patena that was on it like it was real hot. he also found another pice about the same size close to this one.

  • George did you do any cleanup work to it other than washing dirt off ?
