Lift pump for a highbanker?

I have been given a new electric lift pump with a factory installed 50ft cord and plug. The pump is 115v and designed and rated for in water operation. I am going to try it with a 1500w generator. Has anyone ever tried this set up? The person I got this from is very informed about these pumps and thinks it will work great for the highbanker. I am told the pump will pass small rocks with no problem also. I will be putting it in a tub though to prevent the rocks. Any thoughts?

  • You need to know the hp of the pump, and the gpm in order to make an informed decision. A 1500watt gen. will only run about a 1/4hp pump, and I would say that you are going to need 40gpm or larger pump to run your high banker. The only way to know if it is going to work, is try it out at home, before you drive 100 miles to find out it won't work.

  •  Bob again! I am wanting to try the pump set up on the highbanker I have built. Picture is attached. Thanks again!
