LDMA Italian Bar, anyone been there

So, deciding on Italian Bar, CA or Vein Mountain, NC for outing in October. has anyone been to I-Bar before? Any tips if so? Lots of info on Vein in the GPAA Forums, but not much real talk on I-Bar. If you have been there, can vehicles pass on the drive down Italian Bar Road?

    yea kent. had a great time. learned alot about the true LDMA from the people there. met some new friends. Gold was all fly poop, nothing bigger than that a 30 mesh would not classify. We caught bad weather but learned how to rough camp it really good with the lightning making our tent look like daylight inside. My CC690 worked pretty good. Never got to use my metal detector because nothing big enough to find there. Caretaker was great and helped us with our pump since we could not get it started. Always overfill the oil level we learned on one of those. Over all, was really good time. Had to upgrade the truck after I got back because we were really pushing it with the Nitro over the hills and mountains. I have videos but need to edit them and will post after I get caught up on work.

    I haven't been there yet guys, my work [play?] is further North but since I-bar is the oldest of the LDMA camps, I would think you would not have any problems driving. I normally stay at LDMA camps when I travel in the west and most of them are well established with very good roads. I just haven't gone to I-bar yet and probably wont until the moratorium on dredging is lifted. I know nothing about the east coast camps except what I've read, probably Cecil knows more about that.
