Keweenaw County MI ?

Hello all,

I am new to prospecting and have been looking for places to go. So for  the heck of it I went to the gpaa site and clicked on the U.P. and up popped the the Keweenaw and it said Our Rich gold bearing areas.

Why isn't there other info on this because every where else is Marquette, Ontonagon and Baraga I listed these areas because they are closest to me lol .

Thanks for your replies

Andy

The majority or highest concentration of glacial moraines are in the UP area with several active gold mines there today.

  • I do know that silver and gold has been found some where around Eagle River I think it is and also there is a wall of silver up there as well I would love to see that but it's on private property and from what I've read they don't let know one see it.

I got this info from the book Wall Of Silver a very good read it gave the town section type cordinates.

  • I saw the same thing a few yr,s ago on there site . only i  thought they had a property up there . think it is some form of self promotion , but i could be wrong .   no doubt there is gold mixed in with the copper ore .  old timmers have said that the big copper  mines paid for there overhead with the gold they got as a bi-product .   ---- Gary
