Back in June this year I was out testing a stream on my claim using a sluice. I had run some dirt from a lower area on the claim and it was time to do a clean out. I cleaned the sluice out into my big pan and before that had gotten a sample bag and put it under my hatchet nearby where I was going to do my clean out into a small wash tub I use. I normally just do a quick pan to see if there is any gold in it, save the dirt in the tub and recheck it when I get home. I was out by myself and started to pan into the tub. I started a backwash and noticed some very nice flakes in my pan, so I reached in my pocket and got my Garret snuffer bottle out removed the little stopper cap put it in my mouth and was snuffing out the flakes. As I was snuffing out the flakes something touched me on the shoulder this startled me and the cap in my mouth fell in the stream. I quickly set the pan down and went after the cap, I saw it in the stream but failed to pick it up and thought I'de lost it. So back to the pan I went and again started panning, again I felt a tap on my shoulder, I quickly turned around and there was nothing there. So back to panning and to my amazement when I look in my pan there is my snuffer stopper. OK now I'm a little spooked. I finish off the pan into the small wash tub and I'm getting ready to dump the dirt from the washtub into the sample bag I mentioned earlier. I go to get the sample bag that I'de put under the hatchet and its gone. I search around, check all my pockets and can't find it. So I head over to the quad to get another sample bag and just before I get to the quad I feel a tug on my pant leg, This time I literally jumped and when I looked down there is my sample bag in my pocket. I've never been a believer in ghosts but this experience is making me rethink my beliefs. Another time when I was down on this same claim with my prospecting partner we had another unexplainable occurrence. These events have us both looking over our shoulders any time we are down there now
