I built my on 2 1/2 " dredge on which i use a 2" clear water  pump from harbour freight and it works great. I just got a T80 compressor and i would like to run it with the engine with the pump which is a 6.5 hp. I know i`ll have to seperate the pump add a pully and make a bracket to mount the pump add a shaft to run the pump, simple right.

Just wondering if anyone has every done , seen , or have any ideas how to do this.

Here is a picture of my dredge.

Thanks for any help COWBOY.

  • ive seen it done but the drag might effect the pump from working at full capacity.
  • Take some pictures as you work your way through the project.  They might help someone else trying to do a similar job.

  • Where you able to do this?
  • Good luck cowboy and hope to see ya on the creek again real soon!

  • Got home today after work and removed the pump from my engine, took some measurements and done some figuring. Think  i`ve got it. On my pump , A bolt goes threw the impellers center and bolts to a 3/4" drive shaft. There is a bushing on the back of the impeller that presses against a rubber seal on a spring mounted in the back half of the pump housing which keeps it from leaking water. I need 2 1/2" `s of shaft for all clearances, adding a 3 1/2" shaft will give me room to connect the two shafts, add a 2 1/2" pully on the engine side ( stated by Keene Eng. with a 6" on the T 80 ) and mount to the frame on my dredge. Stay tuned i`ll let you know how it works out , try to fab it up this week end.
