  • First I would not go with the dredge riffles unless you plane to use it as a dredge keep the stock hand sluice riffles for just high banking just remembers to feed slow I have the dredge riffles on my 2 1/2" combo and it take too much flow to get them to work when just high banking and a lot of fines were lost. I ended up going with a over and under conversion on my combo with only expanded metal on the under sluice now I lose very little. Your pump need not be too large if you are just high banking but I say get as much pump as you can afford and carry I run a 145gpm pump but you could get away with as little 40 to 50 gpm with no problem. Here are a couple pics of my A-52 2 1/2" combo over and under conversion

2 1/2" over and under sluice

2 1/2" over and under sluice
    I used a 1/4" punch plate
2 1/2" over and under sluice
this is the under sluice expanded metal
2 1/2" over and under sluice
    • Cool Thank you.
Nice set up. I noticed in my experiments in small test sluices, that the black sands and flower gold loves to go under the rubber mats.

I've read of a fine slit at the mid sluice, and if I recall properly it also widen, will let the gold dust fall to a reservoir.
