Gold under the campground?

I was Playing with some sand I dug up last summer while setting water pedestals here in the campground. I came across a layer of black sand and took out about 2-3 gallons, it sat for a while. got my toys back and hooked up a duct tape header box on the A52P and a pump and cleaned that sand, then ran it through the blue bowl. I was a little surprised how fine the gold was and how much I got out of the 2-3 gallons of sand. I didn't clean it all the way but this is what I got out of it. tomorrow Ill have a bit more I hope. I got permission from the owner to do a little testing around town with the backhoe. Tomorrow town maintenance is going to play in the dirt looking for gold. lol

This should be fun, more pics tomorrow.

  • My conclusion so far, wrong Dirt. I now believe i mixed up  dirt from Liberty, WA with the dirt from here. no label. There are no garnets here in the dirt I have cleaned so far and the sample I pictured does. So wrong dirt, I don't like making mistakes but there it is. I am finding little specs though but not enough to make work out of. 2 more holes today just to make sure. Oh and no arrowheads either.

    • I am part of a group with a couple claims in Liberty. I myself not been over there yet..... What Is it like out there, i only seen google earth images.

      • Liberty is a beautiful place , gold, I think theres a prospecting store there now, not sure about that, i'll have to check next trip that way. That ore pictured came from further up the road from an active mine site.

I am fabricating Stators for Permanent magnet alternators and wanted to use the metals from there to fab them. I play/design with small wind turbines/yard lights as well.

  • very nice ...Keep us posted ok   Thank you and good luck

  • I'm off to make a better recirculator for clean up. Need to go see if some of those p 100-180 electric irrigation pumps work. Pictures tonight or sooner. Why am I still in here? later.

  • That look good for a play ground. that could be a million dollar play ground. You now what they say gold is where you find it.

    • Theres nothing ells to do here might as well dig it up for a while. today I will have a better idea and make sure that wasnt a fluke.
