I need some advice.  I like the CC690 but with adding the pump may be more than I can justify. Not just the cost but can I get good results with either of these other 2 highbankers that cost half as much complete. Will they be as sturdy as the CC690 seems to be. While a lot depends on the operator I do not want to make a mistake. I bought a spiral wheel based on the ad and I am not happy with its operation. I will stick with it and make it function as close to ad as possible. I do not want to repeat my purchase error again so I am looking for some seasoned advice.

  • I bought the Jobe/dredge combo with the 5.5hp engine and really like it.   I haven't used the dredge set up as I have a 3" Keene dredge also.  I am going to be working a smaller creek and I will be using the 2 1/2 inch dredge on the highbanker.   The Highbanker works great and catches even the smallest pieces!   I liked the price on it also!  Just a thought...

    • Thanks Ron.

  • there are alot of differant ones you can get ..I know the cc690 is a great power sluice and I also know you cant go wrong with gold hog products either  I believe like DWD stated go with what you like personal preference means a lot maybe get something you can convert to a highbanker dredge if you choose to because odds are you will want to do that in the future good luck in your search and keep us posted

  • Brent I have been in your spot.  All of the high bankers you stated will  find gold.  To be honest it is all in set up. If it is not set up right you will lose gold.  I like the Gold Hog mini. I made mine similar to it but longer. I use the GH matting in it, it works great when I have it set up right. If I get the angle wrong I lose gold.  It breaks up clay nice, washes rocks like Doc's videos, and catches gold.  My suggestion is go with what you like, save yourself the aggravation.  If you buy the one you want in the beginning your better off.   I bought a stream sluice with a power head to start off with.  I out grew it before I made it to the field.  I tried turning it into a high banker. I changed the carpet to miners moss, then vortex mat then to gold hog matting  just  gave up after a while and started from scratch. I built what I wanted from the beginning.  I spent twice what I would if I just bought what I wanted right away. Hope this helps
