So, looking at 2 new rigs for me and the wife. Does anyone have any experience with the Gold Bug 2? It is tough to find good honest reviews of these machines that explain what they are good for and what not. And the companys website does not answer much at all. Can it be used for anything but gold prosp[ecting, If i am in the south, would love to do some treasure hunting in the old battle fields.

The second one, which I i have ordered already, is an infinium LS. I have read some great stuff about this and it will augment a true gold nugget hunter for sure.
I wouldn't recommend it for relic hunting. Its a gold hunter. You might be able to coins with it but you would have to change the coil on it. There is a few machines that are comparable. There is the Gold bug, Lobo ST, Gold Stinger, Minelab X tera and the Technics Gamma 6053. All of these machines work.
I can only tell you about the Lobo ST. I do have one and I do use it for nugget shooting. I could also use it for relic and coins. I can personally tell you I have found a 5 grain nugget at 5". I don't know if the others are capable of doing so.
