 I own and use both of these machines, my latest purchase was the Fisher Gold Bug 2. I have owned the Whites GMT for about six years and it has produced some nice small nuggets for me.  I now use the Fisher in preference to the  Whites and am in fact going over the same areas I have previously detected with the GMT and finding tiny nuggets I have missed.  I am using 6 inch coils on both machines.I find the advantage with the Fisher with its manual ground balance I am able to tune to the ground conditions better and able to carefully set the threshold on the machine to highlight tiny nuggets.    The GMT can also be set manually and threshold manipulated but not as finely as the other machine.  I have also owned a lot of other gold detectors including , Whites Goldmaster2, minelab 18000, Exterras , Gp3500 and Eurekaace but for small  gold the little Fisher beats them all.  good hunting Neilo
