I have some flakes and flour like gold colored material which will in the Pan alOng with magnetite but is easily washed out of pan... I've tried sooap and Rinse agent but still not collecting in bottom of pan. Don't know if gold or Pyriite. The flakes appear to be malleable and not brittle I'll post photos next time I try to work this stuff... I have 3 gallons or more of sifted sand... I'll try to build a blue bowl ... But love to hear other methods.. I might be able to get hold of some mercury. The construct a retort . Also interested in something I saw on TV with lead mines that something was us To cause lead to float and then be skimmed Off the top, filtered and smelted away to get Pure lead .... Any ideas to recover gold in similar manner. Thanks for any help !!$!

  • i've had good success with the black magic cleanup sluce myself. got the same thing from the beach the other day ists a pain but also the blubeery bump and wash method does pritty well, just sent off for the fosiker pan take a look on utube and see how it works. if you go with mercuy get a retort to clean it up. and be carful it is dangerous. dont try the bake potato method. jet dry. will keep it from floating. the blue bowl probably wont work.

  • You can smelt it and see if you can get it out or build/buy a shaker table I know a shaker table will get it. I built a test shaker table and the fine gold and I do mean fine walked up the pan where I could get it.  I have seen a smelting kit that uses a microway and seems easy to use after watching it performed on youtub. I have not used it as of yet still waiting on someone in a forum to use and give a review. I have opened a site www.a2zlist.net where people can post gold claims and equipment for free maybe someone will post a used shaker table on it and you can pick one up cheap. I have seen gold float and it is hard to get it but also look at pop and son slucie I hear this will get fine gold. I started a box just have not had time to finish.

  • I made a quick little video for you all to see.  It shows the process I was talking about.  Enjoy

  • I have had the best luck keeping the " Floaties " down with jet dry plus it keeps my glassware sparkling Laughing here !

    • I usually just flush twice to get the floaties down...uh...oops, not talking about those floaties??  Man, how embarrassing!  LOL!

  • Isolate a larger piece under your finger tip. Push down hard and drag it across the pan. If it disappears in a powdery streak you have jagged edged mica. Its the worst kind. Under a 10x loop the edges will have a very tiny ruffly appearance. This abrasive edge keeps it from stratifying properly. It grabs heavy particles and holds on. Here it is almost a duplicate shade of the natural gold and has the ability to trick you with the shade test because we dont get full sun often.  The good news is even though some stays in the flour a final swirl at about 45 degrees will cause it to fall just like the blacks and blonds. It will hold on through a concentrator and stay with heavies but at the end only the gold stays at the top of the finish pan.

Just up the road from where I go is the worlds highest quality pyrite specimen mine. A 2 inch by 4 inch sample from that mine brings $400.00. But we just dont have any pyrite available in our surface material. If we do its small and washes away with the blonds and blacks due to specific gravity. The tiny couple pieces I have seen shattered under a knife blade and they were in the +20 blondes. Gold cuts smooth like cutting fishing lead only a bit harder. You can feel Gold as a soft metal through the handle of the knife blade if the pieces are small and flat.

Hope that helps. As Spur said during finish as you wash away material drop a new dot of soap into the new water if the material is completely dry from dipping the pan at 90 degrees to flush the waste off the bottom.

    • Everyone, thanks for your replys !!! It's what I need
  • The best test is to lay your pan on the flat table.

Shake the material and water vigorously

Now keeping the pan flat, make the water round and round in the pan

If you are doing it right the material in the pan will start to center in the pan

    Let it come to rest.

All your gold will be under everything

All the fools gold will be in the middle of the pile, on top of the dirt pile

It will sparkle and smile but is worthless.

Remember, if it don't act like gold, it's not gold

Gold is heavy and it will sink, period!

Let us know what you find.
