Fine Gold recovery

this is a very simple method of getting your gold out of your Black Sands. one of my prospecting partners showed me how bto make this water table, so I decided to send it along to you so you can make it to help you with recoverying all the fine gold you can. its not perfect but it helps.                     make sure you run your water slow and not too much angle for best results .  best luck GW Humble. PS if you have any problems with this build let me know.

  • Very nice work.

  • Great Idea!  For the ones out there trying to find another use for the venerable A-52 sluice, here is another option:  Remove the riffles and matting, rough up the bottom with 200 grit sandpaper and apply 2 coats of chalkboard paint.  To create the "dam" I taped off a small area and applied a third coat of paint.  2960230948?profile=original

    • Michael that is a great idea, to me that is what makes this a great site everyone contributes. good job George W

      • Yes ,thanks everyone

  • thanks Howard for the comment.George W

  • Dennis I watched that video a while back and yes it worked great  In Northern Cal my time is beter spent running more material than chasing all the Micros but Georges design would work great on clean ups and it just so simple to build ( I like tha simple part ! )  I do agree a dam might keep the flow flatter.

  • Nice Design but it needs a Dam so the water can flow over or under at an even flow the way it's set up now you will have a wake in the flow of the water and some spots will flow faster than others... as for the jet dry or Dawn soap they seam to work but so does "Revers Osmosis" you need to know what the parts pre million are in you water when going for the Micro. Dennis ...Howard gramps is a member here and has a nice table for prety cheep Bucket did a video with one http://www.goldprospectorsspace.com/profile/HowardMartsolf?xg_sourc...

    • thanks for the tip on the dam I will put one in the system, this table was ment to be used for seperating your black sands and gold and it does that cheap. I have seen the system that you refer to and it works great just depends on your budget.

      • Yep I agee My Budget is $0.00 LOL. I built my own also, I sanded the aluminum with 60 grit but I read that you could use ChalkBoard Paint. I seen you pic of the one you made lokks real good and the water is clean, I'm courageous is the water presher stronger on the hose side of the spray bar ?  006

  • Ken I would say if you use jetdry or dish soap it should resolve any problem with float gold, but thats my opinion.
