I'm ready for a long road trip. Motorhome is just about loaded. Got everything I need, shovels, pans of every type, sluice boxes, metal detectors (3) ,gizmos, gadgets, and whatnots. The only thing I dont have is a good place to go this time of year. I'll be leaving the state of Pennsylvania heading in at westerly direction. Someone PLEASE HELP with some info on a place to go...Distance is no obstacle. Thanks......Harry

Harry!! Let us know how you are doing near Prescott!!! Hope you got your vehicle fixed without spending a fortune. It will be interesting to hear how you made out at lynx creek! Take Care John B
I'm in Pennsylvania and am a member of a club that has several properties leased here as well as some claims in Idaho, California and (I think) Arizona. Although I really like the northwest, the weather can get pretty unpredictable this time of year. You might consider joining a club that has property in Arizona. I know an area where they have found some pretty nice nuggets.
I don't know if there are free spots, but I believe there are forest service spots, maybe some private ones. You could call the local forest service office for info on campgrounds near the creek. You may want to consider going south when it cools off a bit. The stanton area has claims and you could connect with other campers who prospect!! Have a great time!!!
Hello Harry: The Hassasyampa is a river that is both wet and dry depending where you are. I have a claim in wickenburg, south of prescott and the river is dry there. The GPAA has many claims within a short drive from prescott. Lynx creek area is a famous gold bearing creek. Also, south of prescott near congress is the LDMA base camp at stanton, az. There are GPAA claims in the area and the camp has lots of folks there who would help you. Good Luck!!! Have a great vacation!!!!!!!!!

Thanks john. I'm going to head to Lynx creek as soon as my motorhome is fixed AGAIN. Lost my brakes . Second time in 4 days. Are there any free camp spots there , or are they fee spots. Thanks again for the info.
Join the GPAA and get their claims catalog. Lots of places to hunt, and you will receive a permit to be on the claims. Your $67.50 goes a long way to help recreational prospecting.
Meadview is in NW Arizona between Kingman AZ and Las Vegas NV. Off highway 93 Dolan Springs exit about 40 miles to the east. Go through Dolan Springs (dont go over 25 mph) to mile 34 or so to the RV park on right side. This is Lost Basin area or you can exit at mile marker 22, turn to the left go 7 miles to Gold Basin gold fields..just past second cattle guard.

what kind of prospecting are you doing? I prospect in that area.
If you are at the campground, go south and you will find the hassayamta? (spelling).
watch for claim signs as lots of claims in the area.
There is also lynx creek on the east side of prescott for panning and detecting.
I would suggest checking in at a&b prospecting on hwy 69 to find some spots to go.
It is in prescott valley about 10 miles from the senator hwy turn off (going east)
