  • Have a look at this old file http://www.dnr.wa.gov/Publications/ger_b37_part2_metallic_v1_2_gold... , It lists Placer gold locations by county . There are some listings on the Columbia, but then the file was made before the dams went in. A lot of the good gravels are probably well under the river level.

I see your in North Bend. I'm in Seattle. Have you been up the N. Fork Snoqualmie?
    • Howdy Alan,
Thanks for your tips. Yes I've been on the North Fork - I live on the South Fork and can spit into it from my home. I've taken micro gold from the Snoqualmie, the Middle Fork and the South Fork. In fact, I've taken micro gold from almost everywhere in the area. So much for not having gold near Seattle! The Dams on the Columbia does cause a problem. I have already taken micro gold near Wenatchee on the Columbia. Some of the area near there is shut down to Dredging, but I don't know if that includes anything else. Cheers.

      • I wish I could find some Macro-gold! The rain this year has kept the river so high I'm having a hard time finding any gold.
This spring I've been trying to find a good spot to come back to in the fall when the rivers are down. So far I haven't had much luck due to the high water. I get to see a good amount of back country though.
I've found more value in Morel mushrooms than gold so far ;-)
        • Think high benches. Remember the good gold was moved millions of years ago way before roads. Our waters aren't that high this year. At least in my area I'm south of you. Just a thought not trying to be a know it all. Good luck Dig High when the rivers are rageing. tony
