Cheap Ways to get gold from Black sand

Hello

Recently I started test panning a spot and have been finding flour gold (sub 100 mesh) mixed in with black sand.

I've made a home made miller table and recovered some of the gold, and I have a blue bowl but I only have  a 30 mesh screen so the 100 mesh and below goes out the blue bowl.

I have ordered a new set of screens but just wondering is there any other non expensive way of getting gold from black sand without using nasty Chemicals such as acids or mercury.

I have even resorted to seeing if I could build a non ferrous magnet or something similar to catch the gold.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ideally something can be made for very little money and with limited tools and experience (ie does not need welding and disc grinder)

Attached is a picture of the gold having run over my home made miller table with a natural slate surface, but as far as I know the miller table only catches flat gold so would most likely dump other non flat gold

  • You can make a small ball mill with a concrete mixer and iron balls (check ebay). This should not only break down the black sands some more but might even release some gold trapped inside
